Our Commitment
Pointing River Gun Dogs is committed to the preservation and advancement of the German Shorthaired Pointer. We do this by thoughtful breeding of field performance, true confirmation, health clearances, and proper temperament. We also think it is our duty to help buyers in any way we can for the success of the puppy and to help the puppy receive all the opportunities they can. We are always testing and evaluating to ensure all our breeding aligns with our commitments.
After three years of diligent training, testing, and many miles of evaluating stud dogs, our first litter is expected in August!

We’re thrilled to announce an exciting upcoming pairing: Arlo × Maggie!
This is a breeding we are extremely excited about, combining proven performance, outstanding genetics, and exceptional temperament.Arlo is a Dual Champion and Senior Hunter who has proven himself both in competition and as a producer, consistently throwing successful pups in NAVHDA and AKC programs. He is known for his drive, style, biddability, and excellent temperament. Arlo is sired by HOF DC/AFC Gamble’s Odyssey Fritz UT II 198, whose influence is well established through multiple Hall of Fame offspring, adding depth and consistency to this already proven pedigree. Maggie perfectly complements Arlo. She is a natural bird finder, loves to run hard and hunt with purpose, and is extremely intelligent. Just as important, Maggie has a wonderful off switch in the house, making her an excellent companion when the work is done. She balances drive and brains with an easy, enjoyable temperament.
This pairing is expected to produce versatile, athletic puppies with strong hunting instincts, trainability, and excellent family-friendly temperaments.
